Yoga for mind, body and spirit
Begin and or develop your personal yoga and meditation practice. There are many benefits to practicing yoga - deep stretching, strength building, flexibility and balance. The poses enhance the health of the whole body - the nervous system, organs and glands, bones, muscles and the respiratory system. A regular practice also enhances your mental and emotional well being.
Pranayama. "Prana" means breath, life, vitality, energy or strength. "Ayama" means the expansion of (breath, energy and or vitality). Put together, Pranayama is the expansion of life force, the inhale and the exhale. Mindful breathing calms the body and the mind and it is a very important part of yoga.
Asana means postures or poses. The asanas or the poses are paired with pranayama. Every posture has a specific target - certain poses work the joints, others build strength, and some massage the organs and glands. Paired with pranayama, there are great benefits that come with a regular practice.
Yoga is for everyone! Yoga for golfers, yoga for cross training, yoga for well-being and balance, yoga for stress relief, just to name a few.
My fortes are strength, flexibility and balance.
I teach very intuitively. I work with the body or bodies that I am teaching - I focus on the needs of the body as well as focusing on breath work (pranayama) and meditation. My style is very eclectic, having taken many classes from Master Teachers within different styles. I take from a variety of styles and put together classes that are geared for the clients or students I am teaching.
Yoga is wonderful for cross training and can provide relief from other sports or activities that you participate in. It will enhance your health as well as your life!
